Property Summary

Nestled between Easterton Sands and Market Lavington, Beechlyn occupies a commanding position with panoramic views of Salisbury Plain. Built in the mid 1920s and having undergone extensive refurbishment and enlargement in the last six years, this chalet bungalow offers the best of both old and new, quaint yet contemporary, with beautiful fireplaces and picture rails in most of its rooms but complemented with a modern twist. Larger than the average bungalow, Beechlyn boasts over 2000 square feet of flexible accommodation as well as a workshop and a delightful summer house or home office, in which to lap up the fully enclosed garden and stunning views!

The versatile accommodation on the ground floor comprises an entrance hall, a study/sitting room, a cosy snug or bedroom four, a superb guest bedroom with an impressive ensuite bathroom, a formal dining room, a country style kitchen/breakfast room, a shower/cloakroom, a lovely garden room with Bi-fold doors, a side entrance/lobby and a useful utility/laundry room.

The master suite occupies most of the first floor, featuring a perfectly positioned, high-back roll top bath, in which to relax and admire the beautiful views. A small landing with eave storage and bedroom three complete the layout on the first floor.

Outside, there is a large summer house or home office with a garden store attached, a practical workshop, plenty of gated driveway parking and a beautifully established garden to the front and side of this unique property.

Beechlyn has immediate access to a number of footpaths and bridleways. Easterton is an attractive, rural village on the edge of Salisbury Plain, with a delightful pub, church and village hall. Within a mile is the larger village of Market Lavington which offers a Co-op, post office, butchers, pharmacy, doctor's surgery, takeaway food options and florist. There are also excellent schooling choices with St. Barnabas Primary school in Market Lavington and Dauntsey's and Lavington secondary schools in nearby West Lavington. Within half an hour's drive are both Marlborough College and St. Mary's, Calne. The charming market town of Devizes is five miles away and offers a choice of superstores, a variety of independent shops, a regular, Thursday market, Wadworth's brewery, a cinema, a theatre and a leisure centre. Salisbury can be reached by car within 30 minutes and Bath within 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

From Devizes drive up Long Street, over the mini roundabout and continue on the Potterne Road towards Salisbury. After passing through the village of Potterne, in approximately one mile turn left at the Black Dog crossroads towards Easterton. At the top of Spin Hill take the first turning on the left (to Easterton Sands) into Kings Road and continue for approximately half a mile until you reach a sharp right hand bend. Beechlyn is on the left with a five bar gate accessed from the edge of the bridleway to Fiddington Farm.
